About:
Palau is inspiring people to make more environmental everyday food choices. They are a tech-driven, food-scanning, planet-saving app with inspiration and advice to help people buy from brands who are doing right by the planet and their belly. With Palau people can focus on the good life, knowing their doing a little bit for nature.
Challenge:
When it came to climate tech, Palau was fed up with guilt-tripping communications and repetitive visuals. They are a group of nature and sports enthusiasts, and while their mission is to tackle climate change through their digital product, they are also big believers in living life to the fullest and appreciating nature by interating with it through adventure.
Process:
We repositioned Palau from a food scanning app to a non-judegment digital space that celebrates improvement over perfection in the face of the climate crisis. With eco and nutri scoring, a footprint calculator and an environmental academy, we helped Palau approach their mission in a more holistic way. We created a brand strategy, visual identity, and tone of voice that builds on Palau’s ‘imperfect’ nature and elevates its role in helping people buy well, and live better.
Solution:
Alongside a beautiful new app, we’ve armed Palau with a set of brand guidelines and editable figma file which means their team can continue to use and build on the work we’ve done. We also helped shape their art direction and photographic identity, which led to an amazing DIY photoshoot in Tarifa. We know that start-ups are never static, so it was important to us that we handed this project over in a flexible way that would encourage Palau to really benefit from it in the future.
